Stain supawood in Mohagony finish
Please advise me on how to stain supawood in Mohagony finish. We were told that it is impossible to stain supawood as it causes the supawood to have a “bubble” effect after a while. There has to be an application method to avoid this, and I’m hoping you would be able to advise us. I would like to use the applications on supawood for craft purposes. Looking forward to your reply.

Getting rid of curves?
I have made 2 sets of cupboard doors from maranti tongue & groove planks (24mm thick) After carefully glueing together and thereafter planing the doors smooth & flat, I now find that I have a curve to these doors. How do I permanently get rid of the curve. I would appreciate your answer ASAP if possible.

How do I treat the pine to get the same bright white effect. Please can you let me know step-by-step what coats (and how many) I need to add.

If I draw a line to be cut by a jigsaw, handsaw or circular saw, what measurement should I allow for the blades of the saw to not interfere with my actual measurements I need? Do you allow 1-2mm to the waste side of the wood or do you actually have to measure the blade and add that size to your original measurement?

Filling gaps or holes on wood joins?

How do you fill ugly “holes” or gaps where two pices of wood joins each other? I’ve left a rough surface on the one join after my chisel skills went wrong.
I’ve glued the two joins together but there is still visible gaps if you look at it from the top.
What can I use to fill that up and make it look pretty?

I’ve bought an Fragram combination (fine/coarse sides) sharpening stone and paid R13.99 for it. As far as I’ve read, everyone said that sharpening stones are expensive, did I buy nonsense or a synthetic type? Why was it so cheap and is there a big difference between what I’ve bought and the more expensive stones?

I’ve been to Timber City as a first time wood purchaser. I’m in the process of building a workbench and was pleasantly surprise that Pine wood is so expensive.
Not sure if this is just Timber City that is more expensive or in general that wood is expensive?
I’ve paid R400 for the table legs etc, excluding the workbench top (which is another R660.00 - 140 x 70 x 3.5cm)
Please let me know if anyone knows of a decent retailer where you can get good deals.

At which hardware store do you get value for money and also the good product support? I find Mica, Makro and Builders Warehouse equally priced for power and hand tools and accessories and haven’t really experienced their support on return products. I’ve also visited the Builders Express which is a little smaller in size but just as convenient.
Can someone give a camparison or suggest another store?
Removal of stripped star screws?

Please advice on how you get a stripped screw out of hardwood? I’ve drilled a 4mm star-head screw into Supawood and as I put pressure on the cordless drill it started to strip the screw head and the drill bit. (Stupid, I know)
I struggled for 30 minutes to get that screw out - with pliers eventually.
Is there an easier and faster way to get a stripped screw out of hardwood?
